Raw Donuts!
written on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 @ 8:10β€―AM ✈

Just came back from a short morning run.

I'm getting pudgy from staying at home and snacking all day LOL And speaking of snacking, yesterday I was looking up recipes and again, I went looking for these donuts that we had in Japan. (Ah yes, I didn't write about my Japan trip from November last year πŸ₯² I haven't gotten around to transferring out the footage and pics but I want to make a short Japan vlog!) But anyway. Donuts.

I'm glad I took a video of the bakery and managed to get the name of the donuts. After some translating and research, I found that they're called Nama Donuts, or translated to "raw donuts," which is misleading considering they are definitely not raw lol Initially after coming back from Japan, I wasn't able to find anything on it (but I searched the wrong keywords) but 2, 3 months later, Just One Cookbook came through again! This is the recipe for authentic Nama Donuts! Thanks to a bakery in Japan that allowed her to share the recipe~ From the looks of it, frying it isn't too bad, however, I'd probably make some adjustments and try to air fry instead πŸ˜… Unfortunately, not a fan of deep-frying so I'm always trying to find a baked or air-fried alternative. Excited to try! Here's an article about raw donuts in Japan too!
